It was not (Farh)adeadly medley

My blog on the music of Hindi films that released in the 2020s contained posts on three songs from Laxmii (2020).

The fourth track from the film – Mata Ka Jagrata – wasn’t a standalone song, but a medley, comprising parodies of three songs [viz., Apna Time Aayega from Gully Boy (2019), Kala Chashma, and Main Nikla Gaddi Leke from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001)].

Four minutes and 57 seconds long it was the longest song in the film.

Farhad Samji’s involvement in the Tanishk Bagchi composition wasn’t restricted to penning it, but he rendered it too.

It wAS a Lovely Parody

My blog on the music of Hindi films that released between 1987 and 1989 contained posts on four songs from Mr India (1987).

The fifth track – the Parody Song – comprised parodies of earlier songs composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, who composed the songs of the aforementioned film too.

These were Pyar Mein Sauda NahinChahoonga Main Tujhe Saanjh SavereSaawan Ka MahinaEk Pyar Ka Nagma HaiTere Mere Beech MeinDafliwaleMera Naam Hai ChameliKhilona JaankarWaada Tera Waada and Om Shanti Om.

Javed Akhtar penned the song, which Anuradha Paudwal and Shabbir Kumar rendered.
